Stirling Gate & Fence

One of the joys of collecting is when you notice an element that connects seemingly unconnected pieces. This collection of wrought iron gates and fences is just such a phenomenon. We present samplers from throughout Stirlingshire (and beyond as well), spanning over 40 years, that depict decorative gates and fences with a wonderful variety of skill and whimsy. While we continue to research the history of blacksmithing and wrought iron in Stirlingshire, we have found the gates of Boquhan Estates to have a very familiar image.
