This vanity sampler has a uniquely stitched verse in which the text is liberally interspersed with periods and the year has been intentionally picked out.

A three-sided floral border linked at the top with a ribbon bow showcases the well stitched three-masted clipper ship fully rigged with thirteen sails. The ships is towing a dinghy full of men and is sailing across a turbulent sea. There are flags blowing and seamen on the ship. Two butterflies are the only other decorations on the piece.

Arabella's parents are Thomas and Catherine Williams. Arabella was christened 10 December 1815 in Llanbeblig, Caernarvon and her sister, Jane, was christened on July 31, 1814 in Llanllyfini, Caernarvon. The two little hamlets are less than 10 miles apart.
